I'm off to San Juan (or I'm still asleep or I'm in San Juan, or maybe I'm back from San Juan, depending on your reading habits) to hang out with my friend Lorraine before she goes back to cold country. But this is what yesterday was like at Zoni beach. Windy. Wild. Insanely blue skies. Beyond beautiful. Again.
And this is just something that made me feel good, so I hope it does the same for

Some beautiful Culebra finds
Yesterday is a bit of a blur, maybe because an unnamed person woke me up last night, insisting I go and watch the Oscars...which I managed to do (despite the fact that I don't see many movies and don't know who most of the people are) until about midnight, when Ennui reared its glittering head and insisted just as strongly that I respond, with sleep. At home. Thank you. Thank all of you,
A Damsels Daybook 27!!!!!!
This is my simple Damsels version.
If you would like to join in with me each week feel free and if you do please leave a comment so I can come 'visit' and see what your plans are.
Please feel free if you want to participate to use My Damsel Image.
Outside my window....... It is twilight and after reading the first book in this series today it feels even more mysterious and magical than usual.
I am thinking about......... My life, my family, why I respond to some things the way i do. and other random kinda boring for you to read stuff.
From the kitchen..........pasta, salad and garlic bread.
I am creating .........knitting a scarf ,and also knitting squares to be sewn together into a blanket. And writing stories and creating a belt/girdle/thingy/ with a pouch to be worn with my skirts.
I am reading.........
My Bible.
Rangers Apprentice: Halt's Peril by John Flanagan
In the Heart of the Rockies - G. A. Henty.
The ABC's of Choosing a Good Husband by Stephen Wood
Emma by Jane Austen
The Hollow Kingdom Trilogy by Clare B. Dunkle
I am hearing....... Siblings, the computer, and a Demi Lovato Song I'm listening to as I type.
I am hoping.........To try to not get depressed about any thing this week. Today I just felt really icky and depressed. And I'm not sure exactly why. Trying to work it out though so when the situation arises I can remember to not be depressed.
I am planning.......... To have a good school week.
I am wearing............ Red Brizngr t-shirt , purple/kind/mauve/ with/ bits/ of/colour / in / it/ jumper (sweater) , faded black jeans with a hole in the knee , black boots and silver hoop earrings, silver bangle, silver signet ring, and adjustable bracelet .
Around the house.......... Not much.
My wish of the week ......... that I remember to play "The Glad Game." I intend to try this diligently this week.
Catcha later!

T. L. M. C. Day 26: A childhood memory. Day 27: A physical feature you love.
Day 26 : A childhood memory
Okay I am a child. At least until July. Um,............... thinking......... thinking.........Got one!
Alright I was 6 we lived kinda near the beach. It was just a short drive away . I think, I was only small. Anyway . We went to the like the harbour to see....... Can you guess? Whales!!!!!!! I remember driving in the car watching them through the windows. And watching them move around and their tales poking through the water.
I was very excited to see real whales. I think i had seen "Free Willy" or whatever its called its about whales anyway. I can remember many other things but this is a special memory for me.
I don't remember every part of it in great detail. I only remember being in the car and seeing the whales.
Day 27: A physical feature you love.
This will probably sound weird to you but my favourite physical feature would be eyes. Yeah, I guess that sounds weird. But eyes tell soooooo much about a person. you can see what they are feeling inside and kind of see what they're like. Does any one else love eyes?

Timing really is everything
Remember those beautiful orchids from this morning? Good thing I took a photo of them as they were eaten while I was gone...wahhhhhhh! They usually last days and days but I forgot (translate hoped, like a fool, that the iguanas wouldn't find them). Well, there are two more buds...and I've moved the plant. We shall see what we shall see, shan't we?
But first, what we shall see is Lola and Lucy,

I'm late! I'm late! for a very important date!
All right, I live on Culebra; I'm not really late. But I am out of enough time to do the wonderful presentation of Raquel's art justice. So I'm going to give you yard art for now (a total surprise to find these, they were hiding in plain sight, oh joy!) and come back later on with Raquel's. It was a great turn out, paintings were admired and bought, lots of smiling faces. Cultural event #

P.S.!!!!! Art Showing tonight at Paradise Gift Shop!
Looking for something different to do this evening? Come out to Paradise Gift Shop, across the street from the 'old' school, and enjoy the artwork of Ana Raquel Cortes (Lisa Olsen's Mom, Mikey and Helena's abuella). Her work is fantastic, the company will be fun and there will be refreshments too. What else do you want, an engraved invitation (as my Daddy used to say)?
Free Range Friday...plus
Because Lucy and Lola leave soon, I asked them if they had one last Treat of the Day request. After some debate Lola came up with a Lemon Glazed Oatmeal Muffin suggestion that sounded workable to me. So early this morning, all ingredients ready for the leap from bed to baking, I got started. And everything went fine. Until I remembered I forgot (hush, Aaron!) to take photos of the process. So...

T. L. M. C. Day 25: A recipe.
This is one of my favourite cakes. My Mummy has made this all my life. It is SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!
Quick Easy Chocolate Fudge Cake~
1 packet of chocolate cake mix
1 packet of chocolate instant pudding mix
1 packet of chocolate drops
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups of milk
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon
Bake at 180 degrees until cake leaves the side of the pan
Serve on it's own or with cream and strawberries.
We usually double this recipe and use a mixture of white and milk chocolate drops.
It makes two or three cakes. But, who really cares so long as its a chocolate right?

Why there is no post today
I am really out of touch with time and dates this year. Partly because I spent so long in the states, partly because I sort of checked my brain at the gate when I got back. There seems to be not much of a respite of major events going on for such a laid back place and I'm not at my best with multitudinous situations calling for attention. As they seem to do these days. So...I'm stepping off the
T. L. M. C. Day 24: A movie no one would expect you to love.
Okay . I guess it would have to be " Rambo: First Blood." I watched this with my two big brothers and one of my younger brothers Saxon.
I had a VERY interesting storyline. He was very impressive when he fought.
And He has a great knife! The hilt screws off and inside he has some survival things inside .
I love action films. Surprised? And this was very good Here is a link to the Wikipedia review.

Okay. what do I do differently from most people? Um? Help? I 'm thinking! I'm thinking! I really am!
Alright I have one! I really do!
I randomly speak in accents in the middle of talking to someone , often without noticing : German, English, French, posh English, Cockney ( also known as Eliza Dolittle) , American ( yes , several actually) and some other ones I can't remember.
Happy now? You should be. This was not easy for me AT all I had to ask my siblings for help.

Atmospherics, Culebra style
I love those times when the atmosphere shrinks the world. I have no idea how it happens (and please, my science head friends and readers, don't bother explaining; I'm quite content to believe it is pure magic or PFM, as I say when the children are covering their ears). T. L. M. C. Day 20 : A hobby of yours.
Alrighty this is easier then yesterdays was! I have many hobbies. I sing, draw, write stories and do many other things. But, I think the one I use the most often and easily is, my ability to make people laugh.
Yes "Weird" your saying. But I do. I'll often say something that makes my Mummy laugh or do something she thinks is funny. Sometimes I'm just being me and do or say something seriously that Mummy thinks is funny. I also do the same with my siblings .
I'll try to make my family laugh when they're feeling down some of them are so hard to get to laugh it can become a chore if I don't try properly.
I love to laugh and I love to make other people laugh.
If everyone would make an effort to laugh each day I'm sure the world would be a better place and we would all be happier.

Friday sort of slipped away from me this week....why? Well one, I was having this amazing, delicious sleep and woke up with just time to get dressed and head to the cart before the morning wasn't morning anymore. T. L. M. C. Day 19 : A talent of yours
Well, I'm talented at many things. I enjoy and love doing sooooooo many things. But, I think the one my family would agree is my best is cooking.
I've been helping my Mummy cooks since I could walk. I remember making bread with her when I was tiny.
When I was about 8 i started cooking without Mummy's help.
Now at 17 I can honestly say I can cook . I often prepare dinner with My sisters and will make snacks for all of us and desserts.
Sometimes I've made a horrifying mistake , like, to much salt or flipped out a cake to soon and it fell apart.
But, I see these mistakes as good they teach me not to do it again.

T. L. M. C. Days 16 to 18 : )
Day 16 : A song that makes you laugh.
Um, this is hard. I don't know if i actually have one that makes me laugh. I find things amusing but they have to be hysterical to make me laugh or silly. Hmmmmmm? What song?
I think it would have to be " Ebay" by weird Al Yankovic. One I first heard it I thought it made me laugh, now because my siblings play it all the time it doesn't.
Day 17: An art piece.
Okay , so why are you looking at me like that/ This is my favorite art piece.
The Lady of Shallot by John William Waterhouse. There is so much going on this picture!
It tells you so much and conveys oodles of meaning to me. Its so GORGEOUS!!!!!
Day 18: A time when you felt passionate and alive.
Um, That is a weird question. Hardly a day goes by when I am not feeling alive. With the changing seasons and new things happening all the time how could you not feel alive? So, To answer the question I feel alive right now. As for passionate... well, I get passionate about things and people I love and care for . If someone says something I believe in is rubbish then I feel very passionate in defending that.

Face Wash for Oily Skin

Oily skin with those overactive sebaceous glands can be a nightmare to deal with. On the face, the sebaceous glands are concentrated more on the forehead, nose, chin and cheeks, also referred to as the triangle region of the face. The excess oil on the face can attract dirt and grime, leading to enlarged pores, pimples and acne scars.

The best way to avoid the perils of oily skin is with the use of face washes and cleansers that remove the excess oil and dirt from the face and keep it hydrated as well. The trick to finding the best face wash for oily skin is to choose a gentle cleanser which is devoid of the harsh chemicals and instead helps soothe skin inflammation and irritation. Here are some of the essential oily skin face wash products that you can try out.

Best Face Wash for Oily Skin
Most of the facial cleansers have harsh detergents that can dry out your skin, leading to excess production of natural oils to protect the skin. The best oily skin face washes are oil free and contain ingredients such as hyaluronic acid that helps retain moisture. Along with DMAE, green tea and panthenol, this chemical soothes, protects from cell damage from oxidization and helps shrink pores. Common ingredients of face washes formulated for oily skin is salicylic and azelaic acid and herbal extracts of myrrh and echinacea. Here is a review of some of the best face wash for oily skin.

The other day a woman not from here was asking how those of us who lived here dealt with our...I'm not exactly sure how she rather indelicately phrased it, but our cultural needs. She got back a variety of answers, most along the lines of 'We've got about as much culture as we want; hey, we had a production of Oliver! just last week!'
Now we're into this week, and tomorrow is chock-o-block with

Some things I've been Seeing
With some really enjoyable, but pretty tiring work keeping me busier than I think the law allows on Culebra, I've not had much go on that demands the Writing Muse to poke me into action. Or, I'm not skilled enough to write things that are bigger than words. But my eyes are still open. See what you see, whispers the Muse of Sight. I'm listening.
Shouldn't every view from 'work' be like this?

A bit of a Culebra rant: Second Verse Same as the First
While on a walk yesterday I came across this scene. Let's count the ways this is wrong.
Conchs are WAY under legal size (9 inches is legal, these are less than half of that)
Mangroves destroyed and why do I think this dock might not be legal?
So what, you might think. It's just 'the way it is' to take baby conchs/whelks/lobster and destroy mangroves. And in many ways, that's probably

T. L. M. C. Day 8 : A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life.
Day 8: A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life.
Hmmmmmm, there are so many people in ones life who change it. I know if my Mum hadn't taught me to read I wouldn't be the same person, I know if I couldn't cook I wouldn't be the same person. But, my Mum taught me all these and more and for that I am grateful and thankful.
But, who else has changed my life? I think Father Felix, our assistant parish priest from Nigeria would be one of the people who has changed my life and also my outlook on life. Yes, I think I'll go with Fr. Felix.
Dear Father Felix,
I just want to say thank you for everything you've done for me. You've taught me many things without realising it. You've taught me to not look on the bad side of things but to have hope that everything is for a purpose God's purpose and if I start to feel like there is so much unfairness in my life I should remember what you say , " God is not fair. God is generous."
You've taught me to live by JOY . Living first for Jesus , then for others , and then for myself. And doing it JOYfully. You've shown me that Trust, Faith and Hope in Jesus should be my number one priority. You 've shown me that even though you can be a stranger in a strange land, and the culture changes, people are still people. They still need to be loved , respected and honoured.
Fr. Felix, I know when you left Nigeria for Tasmania you said you were scared and nervous. But, through it all you had faith and you showed me that as it says on The Princess Diaries movies that
" Courage is not the absence of fear. but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear." You also smile all the time and in that way show others your happy no matter what, and I'm working on that.
Father Felix I thank God that you changed my life.
And I thank God for sending you to Tasmania.
Thank you

Pre-game Super Bowl Sunday on Culebra 2011
I know, there's a football game today. A big one. And I'm quite proud of myself that I even know who is playing! I really don't know much at all about football, by choice and by upbringing. Or vice-versa. I think I watched my first Super Bowl at my sister's boyfriend's house in South Florida, when I was 15 or 16. And yes, there were televisions back then, really.
He had a big house and it was a

T. L. M. C. Day 6 A Moment You Wish You Could Relive.
I really don't know what moment I would really want to relive .
So, I think I would like to relive the moment I was told that I had a new Baby Sister/Brother.
But, I wouldn't know which of my siblings I would like to be told had just arrived .
I only know that those moment(s) are some of the happiest of my life.
All the waiting for this new sibling was worth it, you hold them , cuddle them, tickle them and just LOVE them.
I love the feeling of excitement as I go to meet a new sibling.
And I love that God loves me and my family so much that He has so far given me 9 little siblings and one on the way!
Yes, I would definitely like to relive one of these moments if I could.

Yesterday becomes Today...Again
So, that food thing...right! Yesterday sort of got away from me on that but, true to my stomach, I did follow yesterday's lead. Which was started by seeing Steve with this gorgeous BLT at Dinghy Dock. I was obviously drooling, because he offered me half of it, which was way over and beyond the boundaries of friendship and I declined. I knew he'd hate me later if I said yes. But the kitchen had

My First Day of The Love Month Challenge.
Okay , my first day of "The Challenge " I am catching up on the days. So, they are very short answers.
Day 1: A favorite song.
Okay my favorite song currently would have to be, " Party" by Demi Lovato. It puts me in a real good mood . plus I love singing along!
Day 2: A favorite movie.
My all time favorite movie would have to be The Princess Bride. I have been watching it all my life and my family and I can recite lines, quotes and everything from that movie. plus, what girl doesn't like Wesley?
Day 3: A favorite book.
My favorite book ( not including the Bible :D ) today would have to be, " Laddie " by Gene Stratton Porter. it is funny, dramatic, sweet, family orientated and just plain good!!!!
Day 4: A favorite television program.
My favorite TV program would have to be, "The Road to Avonlea." I'm an L. M. Montgomery nut, especially when it comes to movies or TV shows I can quote. :D We only have the first season on DVD as we don't have TV reception and so only watch DVDs.
Day 5: A favorite quote.
My favorite quote, well the one I first thought of today is "How can one say there are to many children? That's like saying there are to many flowers" Mother Teresa.
